Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Prasad Siriwardena tendered a public apology yesterday (11) to Government MP Lakmali Hemachandra following a heated exchange of words that took place in Parliament on Wednesday.
MP Siriwardena said that a comment he made during the debate may have been construed as personally offensive and expressed his heartfelt regret if MP Lakmali Hemachandra was hurt by his words.
He affirmed that his politics are guided by policy disagreements and not by personal attacks.
He said that he became aggressive when his microphone was switched off during his speech at which point he made the statement out of frustration.
