India, Dec. 1 -- Prabath Chandrakeerthi has been appointed as the Commissioner-General of Essential Services. He received his appointment letter from President's Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake recently.
This appointment has been made in accordance with the powers vested in President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in terms of the Regulation 11(1) of the Emergency (Miscellaneous Provisions and Powers) Regulations, No. 1 of 2025 to execute and coordinate all activities relating to the maintenance of essential services.
Prabath Chandrakeerthi is also currently serving as the Plantation and Community Infrastructure Ministry's Secretary.
