Sri Lanka, April 24 -- Postal voting for the upcoming local government polls officially begins today (24).

According to the Election Commission, individuals unable to cast their postal votes today will be given additional opportunities on April 25th, 28th, and 29th.

To accommodate police officers assigned to special duties during the "Siri Dalada Vandana", a dedicated postal voting center has been set up at Kandy High School.

In addition, arrangements have been made for tri-service personnel to mark their postal votes at their respective military bases.

The local government elections are scheduled to be held on May 6.
