Sri Lanka, Jan. 30 -- The Sri Lanka Customs has announced that the current container congestion at the port is expected to be fully resolved soon.
Customs Director General Sarath Nonis yesterday said President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has ordered Sri Lanka Customs to resolve this issue within four days and arrangements are being made to end the backlog by end of this week.
Nonis said Economic Development Deputy Minister Prof. Anil Jayantha Fernando and Presidential Secretary, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, have been visiting the port daily to oversee necessary measures to address the issue. The Department confirmed that action plans are already being put in place to resolve the situation efficiently.
