Sri Lanka, Nov. 6 -- President of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces Veterans' Association Poppy Committee, Major General (Retd) Mahinda Mudalige pinned a poppy flower on Navy Commander Vice Admiral Kanchana Banagoda at Navy Headquarters on Tuesday (November 4). This solemn act was conducted in commemoration of Remembrance Day 2025, honouring the service and sacrifice of fallen military personnel.

The poppy flower campaign was first introduced to honour war veterans who lost their lives in World War I and II.
