Sri Lanka, March 1 -- The Sri Lanka Ex-Servicemen's Association (SLUSA) held a Poppy Flower Day at the Gampaha Wickramarachchi University of Indigenous Medicine (GWUIM) on January 27, 2025, to honor the sacrifices of soldiers, their families, and civilians who have fought to free the world from tyranny and extremism.

Organized by Major Sanjith Wijeratne, Chairman of the Gampaha District SLUSA, and Dr. Kamalika Jayathilaka, Dean of the Faculty of Indigenous Social Sciences and Management, the event featured speeches on the origins of the Poppy Flower movement and the sacrifices made by servicemen and women.
