Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- Referring to the Extraordinary Gazette notification, issued by the Government under the purview of Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) yesterday assured that the ban of using PET (Poly-Ethylene-Terephthalate) and PVC (Poly-Vinyl-Chloride) material for packing agro-chemicals and also sachet packets having the capacity of 20ml ( 20g) or below will be banned from March 31.

In addition to this manufacturing cotton buds with plastic stems and inflatable toys will also be banned from this date.
