Sri Lanka, Nov. 1 -- Providing free shopping bags will be prohibited from today.
Accordingly, according to the gazette notification issued by the Consumer Affairs Authority, traders should charge a reasonable price for these polythene bags and that amount should be displayed on the bill, stated Samanthi Karunaratne, Acting Director of the Consumer Affairs Authority of Sri Lanka.
