Sri Lanka, Jan. 4 -- Prime Minister and Minister of Education Dr. Harini Amarasooriya today (04) expressed regret over what she described as politically motivated attempts to distort facts surrounding the Grade 6 English module issue, stressing that the government's sole objective is to ensure quality education reform.

Speaking at a media briefing held at the Department of Government Information, the Prime Minister said the Ministry of Education launched an inquiry after receiving a complaint regarding an inappropriate web reference found in a printed Grade 6 English language module prepared by the National Institute of Education (NIE).
