Srilanka, May 22 -- A special Narcotics operation has been launched since yesterday (21) morning, to identify and arrest individuals involved in drug trafficking throughout the country.
The Police have a major role to play in controlling and eradicating the drug menace currently spreading in the country, and protecting the present and future generations from the socio-economic and health consequences of drug use.
The Police Media Spokesman's Office has issued a statement yesterday (21), stating that in order to fulfil this task, a special narcotics operation is to be carried out throughout the country with the direct participation of police officers at all levels.
