Sri Lanka, Nov. 4 -- Police Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F.U. Wootler said that the Police will take steps to conduct a census to identify those addicted to drugs.

The Police Spokesperson stated that a programme has also been planned to rehabilitate those addicted to drugs, and that this will help to reduce the demand for drugs.

He further said that operations are currently underway against drug traffickers and that the Police have been able to arrest many drug dealers and distributors in recent days.

He added that these raids which are aimed at disrupting the supply of drugs, minimising demand, and at the same time, rehabilitating addicts, will help to disrupt drug trafficking. Police Narcotics Bureau data indicate ...
