Sri Lanka, Dec. 17 -- Police have seized a foreign-manufactured pistol and a large quantity of ammunition based on information provided by suspect Kehelbaddara Padme, officials said.

Padme, described as an organized criminal who was brought to Sri Lanka from Indonesia, is currently in custody at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) under a detention order, police said. Further investigations are ongoing.

During interrogation by officers of the Commercial Crimes Investigation Division of the CID, Padme revealed that a firearm and other property belonging to him were hidden in Sri Lanka under the custody of another organized criminal who is currently abroad, police added.
