Srilanka, April 22 -- The Sri Lanka Police have issued a statement clarifying that a fake letter titled "CONVICTION", falsely bearing the name and signature of Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya, is being circulated on social media.
The police noted that the letter, written in English, contains misleading and legally baseless language. It also features emblems resembling the Sri Lanka State Emblem, the Supreme Court Emblem, and the official Police logo-suggesting a deliberate attempt to give it an air of legitimacy.
