Srilanka, March 31 -- Minister of Transport, Highways, and Civil Aviation, Bimal Ratnayake, has announced plans to increase domestic flights to promote tourism within Sri Lanka.
During an inspection tour of Palaly Airport, he emphasized the need for amendments to existing laws to facilitate these changes.
The goal is to improve access for domestic tourists, particularly those from Jaffna, by developing airports like Palaly.
The Minister believes these changes will encourage private aircraft owners to operate more flights, benefiting both the industry and the public.
