Sri Lanka, Sept. 4 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has granted approval for the renovation and modernization of the Sri Lanka Planetarium, following a proposal presented by the Minister of Science and Technology.

Designed and built by Dr. A.N.S. Kulasinghe as a key feature of the Industrial Exhibition in 1965, the Planetarium is now showing signs of structural decay and obsolescence in its physical facilities and technical infrastructure. The modernization plan aims to upgrade the Planetarium while preserving its unique architectural features.
