Sri Lanka, Sept. 11 -- A Pirith chanting ceremony was held near the Ella-Wellawaya road accident site last night (10) to invoke blessings for those who lost their lives and to pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Ella Pradeshiya Sabha, the Mayor of Tangalle, members of the Tangalle Trade Union, and local residents. During the event, the Tangalle Trade Union also made financial contributions to support the three youths who were injured while assisting in rescue operations at the time of the accident.
