Srilanka, Feb. 11 -- Measures have been taken to provide housing to families who remain in shelters due to landslides caused by severe weather, stated Plantation and Community Infrastructure Minister Samantha Viddyarathna. He also said that construction of these houses is scheduled to commence at the beginning of March.

This announcement was made during a meeting between the Secretaries of the Plantation and Community Infrastructure Ministry and officers from the Tri-Forces. The minister highlighted that there are 22 families in the Kegalle District currently living in shelters and 51 families from Haldumulla who have been residing in an abandoned tea factory for the past five years.
