Sri Lanka, Dec. 25 -- The wife of former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka's driver Dilum Thusitha Kumara yesterday filed a fundamental rights petition in the Supreme Court against several the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD).

The petitioner claims that officers attached to the Colombo Crimes Division who had broken into her home on December 16 had forcibly taken her, her 3-month-old infant and her husband's mother to Battaramulla.

In her petition, she points out that the her detention in this manner by CCD officers for no reasonable reason had violated the fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution.
