Srilanka, March 27 -- The passenger flyover at Egoda Uyana railway station in Moratuwa, on the coastal railway line, suddenly collapsed last evening (26).

Fortunately, no one was on the bridge at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. According to police, the collapse occurred around 7:40 PM, shortly after a train bound for Galle had passed.

As a result, the railway track running from Moratuwa to Panadura is currently blocked, with train operations limited to a single track.

Technical officers from the Railway Department and the Electricity Board are on-site, working to remove the debris.

The Railway Department has assured that necessary measures will be taken to restore normal train operations by this morning (27)....
