Sri Lanka, Nov. 20 -- 'NPP Govt has approved over 75,000 recruitments to public service in a year'

At a time when recruitment to the public service was suspended during the previous Government, the current NPP Government has approved 76,982 recruitments to the public service within a year of coming to power, said Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Prof. Chandana Abeyratne in Parliament yesterday (19).

The Minister said this while participating in the 2026 Budget committee stage debate on the expenditure heads of the Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government Ministry and the Labour Ministry.
