Sri Lanka, Aug. 6 -- The Government will bring the teaching service into the top 10 highest paid jobs in Sri Lanka shortly and in the 2025 Budget, financial allocations have already been made towards it, Education and Higher Education Deputy Minister Dr. Madhura Senevirathna told Parliament yesterday (05).

The Deputy Minister said that there is high competition for recruitment to the teaching service more than for other services and it clearly reflects that those who join the teaching field do not consider a salary disparity as something that affects them, to enroll into the teaching service. He said that there has been no unfair treatment meted out to the teaching service from the Government's perspective.
