Srilanka, March 18 -- Parliament has approved the establishment of seven Sectoral Oversight Committees for the Tenth Parliament, with chairmanships allocated between the Government and the Opposition.

The motion to establish the committees was presented on the 17th of March by Hon. Bimal Rathnayake, the Leader of the House of Parliament, and was passed with approval from the House.

As per the decision made by the Committee of Selection, four committee chairmanships were allocated to the Government, while three were granted to the Opposition.
