Sri Lanka, Jan. 22 -- The foundation stone for the reconstruction of the Paranthan Chemical Factory was laid yesterday (21) at the Paranthan Chemical Industrial Zone, marking the revival of one of Sri Lanka's oldest industrial establishments after nearly 40 years.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of the Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Sunil Handunneththi.

The Paranthan Chemical Factory, located in Paranthan in the Kilinochchi District of the Northern Province, was originally established in 1954 as a government-owned enterprise.
