SriLanka, Feb. 7 -- The 10th edition of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, jointly hosted by Sri Lanka and India, gets underway today (February 7) at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ground in Colombo.

The tournament begins against a backdrop of political and sporting tension, with Bangladesh boycotting the event for the first time in history following a dispute with the ICC, while Pakistan have announced they will not take part in matches against India.

This is the second occasion Sri Lanka have hosted a T20 World Cup, having previously staged the tournament in 2012, when West Indies defeated the hosts in the final.
