Sri Lanka, Dec. 5 -- In a special statement, he noted that over 30,470 transactions have been made through the Bank of Ceylon account dedicated to the fund. Additionally, the fund has collected nearly Rs. 61 million via foreign currency accounts at the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Donations have come from 33 countries, reflecting strong support from the global Sri Lankan community. With these contributions, the Treasury Operations Department has announced that the total funds received so far amount to nearly Rs. 700 million.

Dr. Suriyapperuma also stated that, as of December 2, over 19,000 overseas workers have received money through the fund.
