Sri Lanka, Dec. 30 -- The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) has reported a sharp rise in the use of crystal methamphetamine (commonly known as 'Ice') in Sri Lanka.
According to Thamara Darshana, Assistant Director of Research at the NDDCB, over 60,000 individuals addicted to 'Ice' were arrested during the first ten months of this year alone.
Speaking at a media briefing at the Department of Government Information, Darshana highlighted that drug use is particularly prevalent in the Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara, and Kandy districts.
