Sri Lanka, May 16 -- The Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) revealed that 53 elephants had died and 17 have been injured due to train collisions occurring between 2020 and 2024.
This was revealed when the COPA met in Parliament recently under the Chairmanship of MP Aravinda Senarath to discuss the Auditor General's report of the Sri Lanka Railways Department for 2023 and the current performance of the Department.
