Sri Lanka, May 31 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said that power outages have been reported in several areas across the country due to strong gusty winds that blew through Colombo and other areas on Thursday night.

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said that a total of 29,015 electricity breakdowns have been reported across the country due to prevailing adverse weather conditions.

The CEB Media Spokesman Dhammika Wimalaratne said teams have been dispatched to restore power in the affected areas.The CEB also requested the public to report any such power outages due to the inclement weather on the '1987' hotline or the 'CEBCare' mobile application.
