Srilanka, March 31 -- The Election Commission (EC) has announced that a total of 234 election complaints have been received thus far in relation to the upcoming Local Government (LG) Elections.

Within this number, it was reported that two incidents were classified as acts of violence, while the predominant portion of the complaints pertained to violations of election law. In an official statement, the Commission detailed that these complaints were registered between March 20 and 29.

The Commission said 180 complaints have been successfully resolved. However, it was also noted that 54 complaints remain under active investigation, signifying that these particular cases require further examination.
