Sri Lanka, March 26 -- Sri Lanka Tourism has attracted 163,051 arrivals from March 1 to 24, 2024 closing to register the fifth straight month of attracting over 200, 000 tourists.

The island nation attracted 208,253 in January while in February the country had 218,350 visitors. In both these months Sri Lanka had a whopping 100% increase as against January and February 2023. The top source destination for Sri Lanka was India with 25,424 arrivals and accounting for 15% of the market while the Russian Federation with 22,722 was second.

Germany with 14,674 tourists and the United Kingdom 14,610 was the third and fourth while China with 10,057 arrivals was at fifth best source destination.
