Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- Opposition requests Speaker to summon IGP to Parliament to discuss MPs' security
The Opposition has officially requested Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne to summon Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasuriya to Parliament to discuss the security of Members of Parliament. Chief Opposition Whip MP Gayantha Karunathilaka stated yesterday (29) that the Opposition had officially requested in writing from the Speaker last Monday to organise a meeting with the IGP in Parliament to resolve issues related to the security of MPs.
