Srilanka, Feb. 22 -- The Udamaluwa Police stated that a bus carrying a pilgrim from Embilipitiya to Anuradhapura suddenly caught fire early this morning (22).
The fire broke out near a retirement home near Jethawanaramaya.
It has been revealed that a person on the bus was killed in the fire.
The deceased is a resident of Embilipitiya, aged about 55.
The Anuradhapura Municipal Council Fire Department, Anuradhapura Police and Udamaluwa Police have jointly extinguished the fire and the bus that caught fire has been completely gutted.
Udamaluwa Police are conducting further investigations.
