Srilanka, Feb. 13 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced that there will be a one-hour power cut today (13). The exact time of the outage will be notified later.
Due to the low electricity demand on yesterday's Poya holiday (12), the CEB managed to avoid a scheduled power cut. However, the situation has changed as maintenance work is still ongoing at the Norochcholai Power Plant, leaving its generators temporarily inactive. Electrical engineers are working to complete the repairs, and the plant is expected to reconnect to the national grid by tomorrow (14).
As a result, the CEB states that power will be disconnected for up to 4 hours today across 20 identified categories of consumers in different regions of Sri Lanka.
