Sri Lanka, Dec. 10 -- Vegetable sales at the Nuwara Eliya Economic Center have reportedly declined by approximately 50% due to reduced market demand.

The Manager of the Economic Center stated that 73,000 kilos of vegetables were transported from Nuwara Eliya to Colombo yesterday (09).

Current prices at the center are as follows: cabbage - Rs. 150/kg, carrots - Rs. 190/kg, leeks - Rs. 190/kg, radishes - Rs. 160/kg, beetroot - Rs. 230/kg, potatoes - Rs. 260/kg, red potatoes - Rs. 280/kg, and Knol Khol - Rs. 280/kg.

The Manager added that the Economic Center purchases vegetables from farmers based on requests received from wholesalers, ensuring supply aligns with market demand.
