Srilanka, April 29 -- The government has announced that this year's State Vesak Festival will be held in the Nuwara Eliya District, centered around the International Buddhist Center Temple.

The festival will be observed under the theme "Let's associate with noble people with good qualities", with Vesak Week officially declared from May 10 to 16.

The Cabinet has approved a joint proposal by the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, and the Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs to organize a series of Buddhist religious programs during the week-long celebration.
