Srilanka, March 25 -- National People's Power (NPP) MPs have signed a letter to remove the imprisoned IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon from office.
A total of 115 MPs endorsed the letter, which was submitted to the Speaker this afternoon (25).
Tennakoon, who is currently suspended, has been remanded until April 3.
He surrendered to the court on March 19 after evading arrest for 20 days.
His arrest warrant was issued in connection with a 2023 shooting incident near a hotel in Pelena, Weligama.
