Sri Lanka, Nov. 12 -- National People's Power (NPP) MP Chaminda Lalith Kumara has lodged a complaint with the Mirigama Police against social media reports falsely linking him to drug trafficking.
The Gampaha District Parliamentarian submitted the complaint yesterday (11), requesting legal action against individuals spreading fake posts that claim he is involved in the ICE and heroin trade.
Speaking to the media, MP Kumara said, "We have identified those responsible for these claims. Many are fake accounts. I and my staff have no connection with drugs or protecting traffickers. These false statements appear to be politically motivated, and we have filed a complaint with the police to investigate and take appropriate action."
