Sri Lanka, Jan. 24 -- Under the National People's Power (NPP) Government, we will work to protect the independence of not only the Attorney General (AG) but also the independence of any institution as well as the rule of law, Justice and National Integration Minister Harshana Nanayakkara said in Parliament.

He said that no matter what position is held by officials or where they are, if they do wrong things, the Government will not hesitate to take action against them and noted that when officials are at work, the Government will not attack them like a 'bull in a china shop' and attack those inside.
