Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake yesterday re-affirmed that everyone must be equal before the law and pledged that his government is firmly committed to establishing such a culture.
The President further stressed that if anyone has, at any time, engaged in crime, corruption, abuse of power, or the misuse of public funds, every such individual will be held accountable before the law with the utmost determination.
He made these remarks yesterday (26) while addressing the National Bhikkhu Day commemoration ceremony held at Temple Trees, Colombo, under the theme "Kalo Ayan Te - This is Your Time." Over 5,000 monks from across the country attended the event.
