Srilanka, June 5 -- Health Secretary Dr. Anil Jasinghe has clarified that there is no general requirement for institutions to mandate face mask usage within office premises.
This clarification comes in response to a circular issued by the Western Provincial Council, advising face mask usage due to a rise in influenza and COVID-19 cases.
The Health Promotion Bureau recently raised concerns about a growing trend in the spread of respiratory illnesses, including variants of the influenza and COVID-19 viruses, across the island.
