Srilanka, April 2 -- Western Province Three-Wheeler Drivers' and Owners' Association stated that despite the reduction in fuel prices it is not feasible to reduce three-wheeler fares.

The Association's Chairman Lalith Dharmasekara said during a media briefing yesterday (1) that instead of reducing fares, the Government should focus on implementing a more systematic regulation to provide a more efficient and reliable service to the public.

Commenting further, he explained that while petrol prices have decreased by Rs. 10 per litre, a three-wheeler typically travels around 20 kilometres per litre of fuel.
