Sri Lanka, Nov. 18 -- National Medicines Regulatory Authority (NMRA) Chairman Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama said enabling the public to obtain medicines at reasonable prices through the setting of controlled prices for 350 types of medicines is a major step in the direction of building a healthy population.
Dr. Wijewickrama stated this at a media briefing organised by the Government Information Department regarding the determination of controlled prices for 350 types of medicines.
He said on July 21, the Health Minister published the gazette notification on the procedure for determining the price of medicines. The Health Minister presented this gazette notification to Parliament and it was passed in Parliament.
