Nisith and Piumal take honours at St. John's and Sastralaya big match
Sri Lanka, April 8 -- Ananda Sastralaya opener Nithish Kamalasooriya stroked back-to-back fifties to take honours against St. John's Nugegoda in their 24th Battle of Sri Jayewardenepura big match which ended in a draw at P. Sara Oval Stadium yesterday.
Ananda Sastralaya scored 204 all out in their first innings while in their second innings they made 136 for 7 wickets declared. St. John's continuing their overnight total of 82 for 4 wickets ended their first innings at 198.
St. John's were 62 for 4 wickets by the close of second day's play with the match ending in a draw once again. Ananda Sastralaya the keepers of the trophy with back to back wins in 2001 and 2002 will keep the trophy for another year.
