Srilanka, Feb. 17 -- A tragic incident occurred in Settipulam, Velanai, yesterday(16), where a 9-year-old boy lost his life due to electrocution.

According to initial police investigations, the accident happened when the child attempted to connect the electricity supply to watch television at home. Reports indicate that he was alone at the time of the incident.

Upon their return, the child's parents rushed him to Velanai Hospital for treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way. His body has been sent to Jaffna Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Kayts Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
