Srilanka, June 27 -- The Uva Provincial Tourism Ministry has announced plans to establish a new tourist zone in Haputale, aimed at boosting tourism and popularizing the Sri Lankan tea brand globally.Sri Lankan cuisine
The proposed development will cover a four-acre uncultivated plot in the Kahagalla area of the Panketiya Grama Seva Division. Key attractions in the zone will include a Tea Heritage Museum and a botanical garden, offering enhanced facilities to both local and international visitors.
An estimated Rs. 700 million will be invested in the project, making it the largest tourist development in the Uva Province to date. Funding will be secured from both government and private sector partnerships.
