Sri Lanka, Sept. 19 -- A new mechanism to provide fertiliser to tea cultivators is expected to be introduced within two weeks, Plantation and Community Infrastructure Minister Samantha Vidyarathna said.

He was speaking at the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Plantation and Community Infrastructure, chaired by him, which met in Parliament on September 12.

Plantation and Community Infrastructure Deputy Minister Sundaralingam Pradeep also participated.

The Minister stated that the Government has paid attention to providing fertiliser without delay and, based on that, fertiliser will be provided under a new mechanism. He further stated that under this mechanism, farmers will be able to obtain fertiliser from any place they wish.
