Sri Lanka, Dec. 31 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the implementation of a Comprehensive Disaster Relief Loan Scheme to support entrepreneurs affected by recent calamities, expanding the scope of existing relief measures, Cabinet Spokesman, Health and Mass Media Minister Nalinda Jayatissa said.

Addressing the weekly Cabinet press briefing yesterday (30), the Minister said the new scheme will provide concessional working capital loans at an annual interest rate of 3%. Under the programme, micro enterprises will be eligible for loans of up to Rs. 250,000, small and medium scale enterprises up to Rs. 1 million, and large-scale enterprises up to Rs. 25 million.
