Sri Lanka, Sept. 22 -- The three-storeyed surgical and clinical complex at the Pottuvil Base Hospital, constructed for Rs. 1 billion, was opened to the public on Saturday (20). The building is part of a Chinese-funded project to upgrade health facilities in 13 hospitals countrywide, aiming to provide high-quality and efficient healthcare to the people of the Eastern Province.

Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa inaugurated the complex and inspected the new building and its various units.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister stated that out of the 13 hospitals included in the project, construction has been completed in 12, with only the Kalawana Hospital remaining. He added that plans are in place to develop the Pottuvil Ba...
