Srilanka, June 3 -- Engineer Professor K.T.M.U. Hemapala has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), according to an official letter issued on CEB letterhead.

Prof. Hemapala, a seasoned professional in the energy sector, previously served as the Secretary to the Ministry of Energy, bringing extensive experience to his new role.

The appointment follows the resignation of Engineer Dr. D.J.T. Siyambalapitiya, whose departure as Chairman has been accepted with immediate effect, as confirmed in the same letter.
