Srilanka, June 27 -- A new cargo flight service connecting Kunming, China and Katunayake International Airport officially commenced operations on June 26 with the arrival of its maiden flight.

The inaugural flight, operated by SF Airlines using a Boeing 747-200, touched down at Katunayake carrying 22 metric tons of cargo from Kunming.

According to airport officials, this new cargo route will operate twice a week, with scheduled flights every Monday and Thursday, boosting trade and logistics connectivity between Sri Lanka and China.
